Closing of the V International Seminar for String Quartet

The future of chamber music meets in Guadix. Next Sunday, 12 July 2026, the spectacular interior courtyard of the Julio Visconti Foundation will host the closing ceremony of the V International String Quartet Seminar, one of the most special initiatives of the XXXIV edition of Guadix Clásica. Seven emerging ensembles from diverse corners of the world will demonstrate why they are called to lead the chamber halls of the future. A concert with a very limited capacity that you won’t want to miss.
The International String Quartet Seminar: The DNA of Guadix Clásica
The International String Quartet Seminar is, alongside the festival’s major concerts, one of the deepest hallmarks of Guadix Clásica. It is not just training: it is a space where emerging talent from all over the world meets world-class masters, where ideas about chamber music are tested on the ground, and where Guadix becomes, for a few days, one of the most important hubs of international musical pedagogy.
This fifth edition brings together seven emerging string quartets from Spain, Singapore, Austria, England, Belgium, Sweden, and Germany, who for days have worked intensely under the guidance of three world-renowned tutors. The closing concert is the final distillation of this process: the moment when all the work, effort, and learning turn into music.

“It won’t be just any concert, but the final distillation of days of intense work, rehearsal, and learning under the watchful eye of three world-class tutors.”
The tutors: three world-renowned masters
The level of the seminar is largely determined by those who lead it. This edition features three names that guarantee excellence in the world of chamber music:
Jonathan Brown
Cibrán Sierra
Antonio Gervilla
The seven quartets: international talent in Guadix
The closing concert will bring together seven emerging ensembles from different countries on stage, each with their own voice and their own path in chamber music:
The Julio Visconti Foundation: the perfect setting
The interior courtyard of the Julio Visconti Foundation is one of the most unique and evocative spaces of the entire festival. Within the walls of this noble stately home, chamber music finds its natural environment: an intimate and perfect acoustic, a human scale that allows you to hear every nuance of the string instruments, and an atmosphere that completely collapses the distance between musician and listener.
The capacity is very limited, making each edition of the closing concert an exclusive experience. Those who attend are direct witnesses to something that cannot be reproduced in a conventional hall: the music of the world’s most promising quartets in a space that seems custom-made for them.
⚠ Very limited capacity — collect your invitation in advance
Invitations are available in advance on RedEntradas. They can also be collected at the venue’s door one hour before the concert, if still available. Given the reduced capacity of the space, advance booking is highly recommended.
