Are the tours suitable for children and elderly people?

Generally, yes. All itineraries are walking tours of approximately 2 hours with gentle slopes. If you have any concerns about the accessibility of a specific tour, please contact us before booking and we will advise you.

What languages are the tours available in?

We offer tours in English, French and Spanish. The language of each session is indicated at the time of booking. For private tours, we can adapt to whichever language best suits your group.

Guided tours in Guadix: explore one of Spain’s oldest cities

If you are looking for a guided tour in Guadix, you have come to the right place. Quo Wadis Tours offers walking tours of the historic centre with an official guide from the Junta de Andalucía, in small groups and with storytelling that goes far beyond anything you would read on an information panel.

Guadix is one of Spain’s oldest continuously inhabited cities. Founded by the Romans over 2,000 years ago under the name Acci, it was successively Roman, Visigothic, Moorish and Castilian. Each civilisation left a deep imprint that coexists today in the same streets, the same walls — and literally in the underground layers of the city itself.

What will I see on a guided tour of Guadix?

Depending on the itinerary you choose, your tour may include:

  • The Roman theatre of Guadix, recently discovered next to the Cathedral and one of the most significant archaeological finds in Andalusia in recent years.
  • The Cathedral of the Incarnation, an architectural jewel blending Baroque, Renaissance and Gothic elements that dominates the historic centre.
  • The Moorish Alcazaba, a fortress from the Zirid era transformed over the centuries.
  • The cave district (troglodyte neighbourhood), the largest complex of inhabited cave houses in Europe, where more than 2,000 people still live in dwellings carved directly into the rock.
  • The Renaissance palaces of Peñaflor and Villalegre, testimonies to Guadix’s prosperity in the 16th and 17th centuries.
  • Squares, arches, viewpoints and hidden corners known only to local guides.

Private guided tours in Guadix: total flexibility

Travelling with family, friends or as a couple and prefer a more intimate experience? Our private tours in Guadix are the ideal choice. The entire itinerary is reserved exclusively for you (for groups of up to 6 people). Enjoy a schedule that suits you, a pace adapted to your group and complete freedom to ask questions and explore.
