On October 3, 2026, Guadix will reignite its soul to offer one of Spain’s most thrilling cultural and heritage experiences: Guadix Monumental y Mágica (3rd Edition). This initiative was created to reveal, like never before, the beauty and rich heritage of one of the country’s most historic cities.

The night will transform into a sensory spectacle featuring 20,000 candles strategically placed to craft garlands, carpets, and mosaics of light along streets and squares. This year, the route introduces brand-new sections sure to amaze visitors: the Town Hall, the Santiago Neighborhood and its magnificent Church, the Peñaflor Palace, the Julio Visconti House, and the majestic Temple of San Agustín and Santa María de las Lágrimas. Iconic spots like Plaza de la Constitución, Calle Ancha, Cuesta del Cristo de la Luz, and the surroundings of the Alcazaba will serve as the perfect backdrop.

The heart of this magic will be the Guadix Cathedral, a monumental jewel and the city’s soul, which will switch off its usual lighting to shine exclusively under the warm glow of candlelight, highlighting every detail of its architectural splendor. The historic center will be filled with special atmospheric displays, soundscapes, aromas, and melodies inviting you to dream—turning every step into an unforgettable experience for all your senses.
