The Youth Orchestra of Andalusia at the 34th Guadix Clásica: Alpine Symphony

Summit and Limit. Strauss’s Alpine

The Youth Orchestra of Andalusia (Orquesta Joven de Andalucía), conducted by Isabel Rubio, arrives in Guadix with an impressive ensemble of 130 Andalusian musicians to perform Richard Strauss’s monumental Alpine Symphony, one of the most ambitious works in the symphonic repertoire.

Through its twenty-two episodes, this extraordinary composition recreates the ascent of a mountain, from the darkness of night to the power of a great storm, offering a unique musical experience.

And what better setting than the Plaza de la Constitución in Guadix, outdoors, to experience this sonic journey in an incomparable environment, at the gateway to the Granada Geopark.
