4th “Joaquín Onieva. Quini” Memorial Trail Run and Charity Walk

Sports and solidarity come together once again in Guadix.

On July 4, the 4th “Joaquín Onieva. Quini” Memorial Trail and Solidarity Walk will take place, an event organized by the Guadix City Council’s Department of Sports—represented by Jesús Samaniego—in collaboration with the Barrio de la Estación Neighborhood Association.

The event will begin at the train station, with the Charity Walk starting at 8:30 p.m. and the Trail Run at 9:00 p.m.

This event pays tribute to Joaquín Onieva “Quini,” a Guadix City Council member whose commitment to and support of sports left an indelible mark on the city.

In addition to its sporting nature, the memorial event has an important charitable component. The voluntary registration fee is 5 euros, all of which will go toward helping little Virginia, a girl suffering from “baby muscles” who is receiving intensive physical therapy to help normalize and strengthen her muscle tone. This is a very costly treatment, and the family continues to appeal to the public for support.

Those interested in participating may register 15 minutes before the start of the event.

The event will feature:

11 km Trail Run
6 km Charity Walk

In addition, prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in the men’s and women’s open categories.

This is an opportunity to enjoy sports, pay tribute to a much-loved person, and, above all, support a charitable cause.

Voluntary registration: watermelon and water included for all participants. €5 donation to support Virginia.
