It was founded by the Romans under the name of Acci over 2,000 years ago. In fact, remains of the Roman theatre, recently discovered next to the Cathedral, are still preserved.
2. When is the weekly market?
The Guadix market takes place every Saturday morning in and around the fairground. It’s a great opportunity to discover local produce, fruit, clothing and the typical atmosphere of Guadix.

SYes, scenes from films such as Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly and Doctor Zhivago have been shot here. Its desert landscapes and unique architecture have made it a natural film set.
